Once a rundown vacant lot on Salem Street...
Now a brand new building housing ten formerly homeless families

After twenty years of providing emergency shelter to hundreds of homeless families, the House of Hope decided to begin to solve homelessness.

This documentary, produced by Michael Mierendorf, a 3 time Emmy-winning filmmaker, focuses on a permanent supportive housing model implemented by House of Hope in Lowell, Massachusetts. The film looks at the model by focusing on the stories of homeless families, including one that has moved into new housing connected with House of Hope, which continues to provide services for the families. We meet mothers and witness their transition, children experiencing the same, and many of the staff who support their courageous transition.
